Floor Sanding in Salcombe and the Estuary
Salcombe is built on a hillside above a deep tidal estuary and almost nothing about it is straightforward to work in. Narrow streets, restricted parking, properties reached by steps, and a summer season when the town is close to impassable.
The housing is a mixture of old fishing and boatbuilding cottages in the lower streets, Victorian and Edwardian villas above them, and a great deal of modern and remodelled property built for the second home market.
The cottage floors are the oldest, wide pine and elm on sleeper walls with very little void beneath. The villas hold better boards over proper joists.
We cover Salcombe, Malborough, East Portlemouth, Soar, Hope Cove, Thurlestone, South Sands, North Sands, Batson and Sharpitor, plus Kingsbridge and the South Hams.
