Cupping. The boards are curving upward at the edges because they are taking up moisture from beneath. It is very common across the Broads and low-lying Norfolk, and the floor must dry and flatten before it is sanded.

Because the boards flatten as they dry, and you are then left with every one sanded thin down the middle. It cannot be reversed. We take moisture readings first and will tell you if the floor needs ventilation work before anything else.
