Floor Sanding in Blandford Forum and the Stour Valley
Blandford is a Georgian town in a way few English towns are. The fire of 1731 destroyed almost everything and the Bastard brothers rebuilt the centre in one sustained programme, which is why the town has such a consistent and unusually complete Georgian character today.
For floors that means a very high concentration of eighteenth century pine, wide boards laid over generous joists, in buildings that are almost all listed.
Beyond the centre the picture broadens: Victorian terraces, interwar housing, the camp at Blandford Forum, and villages of brick, flint and thatch out along the Stour.
We cover Blandford Forum, Blandford St Mary, Pimperne, Charlton Marshall, Spetisbury, Durweston, Stourpaine, Winterborne Stickland, Milton Abbas and Child Okeford, plus Wimborne, Sturminster Newton and Shaftesbury.
