Floor Sanding in Crediton and Mid Devon
Crediton burned down twice, in 1743 and 1769, and like Blandford and Honiton it was rebuilt in one sustained programme afterwards. That is why the High Street has such a consistent Georgian character and why so many town centre floors date from a single narrow period.
Around the town the villages are cob and thatch, some of the best in Devon, and the floors in them are much older: wide elm and early pine on sleeper walls, often thin and always interesting.
We cover Crediton, Sandford, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Copplestone, Bow, Morchard Bishop, Newton St Cyres, Shobrooke, Yeoford and Colebrooke, plus Exeter, Tiverton and Okehampton.
