Floor Sanding in Redruth and Around Carn Brea
Redruth has better architecture than it usually gets credit for. Georgian and early Victorian townhouses on Clinton Road and Penryn Street, built when this was one of the richest mining towns in the world, terraces climbing the hill towards Carn Brea, and a strong stock of chapel and institute buildings.
The townhouses hold some genuinely good floors. Wide pine, pitch pine in the better rooms, and occasionally an oak border in a principal reception room.
Behind them the mining terraces are simpler but sound, and out towards Illogan and Lanner the older cottages can hide elm boards laid straight onto sleeper walls.
We cover Redruth, Camborne, Pool, Illogan, Lanner, Carharrack, St Day, Four Lanes, Carn Brea and Chacewater, plus Truro, Portreath and Falmouth.
