Floor Sanding in Ilfracombe and the North Devon Coast
Ilfracombe is a Victorian resort built on some of the steepest ground in Devon. Tall stuccoed villas and terraces stacked up the hillsides above the harbour, a dense old town around the quay, and later housing spreading inland towards Slade and Score.
Those Victorian villas were built for a holiday trade that has changed several times since, and most have been divided into flats at some point. The floors underneath are often surprisingly good, pine and pitch pine boards over sound joists, simply covered up rather than worn out.
We cover Ilfracombe, Combe Martin, Berrynarbor, Woolacombe, Mortehoe, Braunton, Georgeham, Lee, Hele and Bittadon, plus Barnstaple and the north Devon coast.
