Floor Sanding in Sturminster Newton and the Blackmore Vale
Sturminster Newton sits on the Stour in the middle of the Blackmore Vale, and it is a proper Dorset market town: a mill, a medieval bridge, a market place and streets of brick, stone and thatch running off it.
Thomas Hardy lived here and wrote about this landscape, and a good deal of what he described is still standing. The town has Georgian and Victorian property in the centre, older cottages behind, and farmhouses scattered through the Vale.
We cover Sturminster Newton, Marnhull, Hazelbury Bryan, Stalbridge, Fifehead Neville, Hinton St Mary, Manston, Child Okeford, Okeford Fitzpaine and Lydlinch, plus Blandford, Shaftesbury, Gillingham and Sherborne.
