Floor Sanding in Hayle
Our wood floor sanding service covers Hayle, Copperhouse, Phillack, Angarrack, Connor Downs, Gwithian, St Erth and Lelant. The foundry terraces hold tightly laid pine that mostly spent a century under carpet, and it sands up superbly — nails punched, boards levelled through the grits, then finished to a specification agreed in writing.
Estuary humidity means moisture readings before quoting, and three miles of beach next door means the finish is specified for sand abrasion from the start. Hayle jobs travel inside our grouped multi-day west Cornwall runs.
A century under carpet leaves its own residues. Old foam and rubber underlays perish into a crust that bonds to the boards, and it comes off with scrapers and a dedicated coarse pass before the proper sequence starts — run a fine belt into melted rubber and it smears rather than cuts. Painted margins are another terrace signature: the borders once painted dark around a central carpet square sit deep in the grain and need the full coarse cut to clear. Both are ordinary preparation for us, and both are written into the fixed quotation rather than discovered as extras.
