Floor Sanding in Perranporth
Perranporth floors work harder than most — blown beach sand acts as a grinding paste underfoot — and our wood floor sanding service is set up for exactly that, covering Perranporth, St Agnes, Goonhavern, Mount Hawke, Porthtowan, Cubert and Holywell Bay. Worn walking lanes are sanded out, the whole floor levelled, and a finish specified for abrasion goes down in the right number of coats.
Salt air keeps humidity high all year, so moisture readings precede every quotation, and north-coast jobs are grouped into multi-day runs to keep dates efficient.
Sanded-in beach grit changes how a job starts. Quartz sand is harder than any timber and most abrasives, so a floor full of embedded grit blunts belts at twice the usual rate — we begin with a deep vacuum of the surface and the open gaps, then sacrifice the first coarse belts to clearing the gritty top layer before the real levelling begins. Skipping that stage means every following grit drags captured sand across the floor, scratching as it goes. It is an unglamorous first hour that decides the quality of everything after it.
