Floor Sanding in Wellington
Wellington is home. Our workshop sits at The Old Brickyard on Higher Poole, just outside the town, and every wood floor sanding job here starts ten minutes from base, whether that is narrow pine in the Fox Brothers mill terraces at Tonedale, wider Georgian boards on High Street and Mantle Street, or family houses at Rockwell Green. We also cover West Buckland, Nynehead, Langford Budville, Milverton, Wiveliscombe and Bradford-on-Tone.
Family-run for more than 45 years, we sand through the grits from coarse to fine, seal to your chosen finish, and put it all in a fixed written quotation first. You are welcome to call in and see the machines before you book.
People sometimes ask what they would actually be paying for compared with a weekend and a hire-shop machine, and the honest answer is in the finish. Hire drum sanders bounce, and every bounce prints a faint crescent across the boards that only becomes visible when the seal goes on and the light rakes across it; our belt machines are heavy, balanced and run on continuous belts precisely to avoid that. Add fresh abrasives changed the moment they stop cutting cleanly, rather than pushed on to save a sheet, and the same floor comes out looking like a different species of job.
