The slivers themselves are worth a word. Each one is cut as a slim wedge from matching reclaimed pine, glued along both faces, tapped into the gap and left standing slightly proud, then planed and sanded flush during the finishing passes so it takes seal exactly as the boards do. Resin fills are mixed on site using the fine dust from your own floor’s final sanding, which is why the colour agrees with the timber around it rather than fighting it. Filling is always done mid-sequence, after the coarse work and before the final grit, so the fills are finished to the same surface as the floor.

Parquet Restoration in Weston Villas

Hardwax oiling lets boards breathe and can be patch-repaired, which suits homes and seafront property; tough lacquer sealing suits guest houses and rentals that need fast turnarounds; staining changes the colour, proven first with trial patches on your own boards; and waxing remains an option for period rooms. Floors that are dull rather than damaged can often have a buff and recoat instead, and everything runs on sealed extraction that captures the overwhelming majority of dust at source.

For lets and guest rooms the honest trade-off is between toughness and mendability. Lacquer shrugs off suitcase wheels and daily cleaning but, once it does wear through, the room needs professional recoating; oil marks a little sooner but a housekeeper-level wipe of maintenance oil brings a doorway back without moving a single bed. Bear in mind that any finish reaches full hardness days after it feels dry underfoot, so we plan the coating days so that the vulnerable early period falls when rooms are empty anyway.
