Floor Sanding Throughout Essex
Our wood floor sanding teams cover the county in full — Chelmsford, Colchester, Brentwood, Southend, Basildon, Harlow, Braintree, Witham, Maldon and the villages between. Because Essex lies east of our Somerset base, work is planned in multi-day runs, grouping jobs by area into the same week.
Family-run for more than 45 years, we sand everything from Victorian cottage pine to modern oak strip, always under sealed dust extraction and always against a fixed written quotation agreed before the eastern run is booked.
Good machine technique is invisible in the result and obvious when it is missing. The drum never stops moving while it is cutting — hesitate for half a second and it digs a hollow the finish will highlight forever — and each pass overlaps the last by around half the drum’s width so the cut stays even across the room. Pressure does the least work of all: a sharp abrasive at the right grit cuts cleanly under the machine’s own weight, and leaning on a blunt one just burnishes the timber. These habits, repeated over thousands of floors, are what forty-five years in the trade actually looks like.
